The fascia of a roof is the vertical board at the very edge of your roof. Since it’s relatively exposed, it is a common area which may need to be repaired. The fascia board is usually connected to the rafters or trusses of your roof and acts as protection against water damage.
In addition to being an important functional component of your roof, the fascia helps improve the appearance of your roof – and when it’s damaged, that smooth, even appearance can be easily disrupted.
You can identify fascia damage when you see:
- Visible rot
- Cracking or peeling
- A bent or hanging gutter
Since the fascia is responsible for protecting the other, internal components of your roof, repairing it quickly is a smart move to avoid additional damage which, in the long run, may be more expensive to repair.
NW Home Exteriors offers free roof inspections. If you suspect that your fascia has been damaged, don’t delay – we’re here to help. Remember, the fascia is responsible for sheilding the interior of not only your roof, but the interior of your home as well. Please feel welcome to call us at 503-854-7200.
